3 simple steps for making a claim on optical.

Step 1. Register for nib Online Services.

 
Simply register for nib Online Services here and set up a Direct Credit Account. This lets us put benefits up to $300 at a time directly into your bank account. Don't forget to first check your service is covered and that you've served your waiting periods at nib Online Services before you claim.

 

Step 2. Choose the way you want to claim.

 
Have your receipts handy before you start to make a claim.

  • Claim on your iPhone or mobile: Download the free app or go to www.nib.com.au on the web browser of your phone. Enter your Customer Number and Password and follow the prompts. You can also view and update your policy and find local healthcare specialists.
  • Claim via nib Point of Service (HICAPS) after your treatment: Simply swipe your nib card after your treatment and your benefit is automatically deducted. You just pay the difference.
  • Claim over the phone: To make a claim you will need to have your nib card and provider receipt handy. Call 13 14 63 to make a claim over the phone.
  • Claim at an nib Retail centre: Our friendly customer care consultants can process your claims and answer any questions
  • Claim by mail: To send us your claim by mail, complete an nib Claim Form, attach all of your original receipts and send to the reply paid address that’s written on the form.

 

Step 3. We'll put your benefits into your account within a couple of days.

When you claim online or on your mobile, we deposit your benefit directly into your account and usually within a couple of days.
